what is the Famine?Students around the world loving God and fighting hunger
When you do the Famine, you’re challenging your students to be part of something bigger than themselves. To take action for God’s kingdom. To help save the lives of hungry kids.
Whether you lead 5 students or 55, the Famine will change the way they see the world.
How the Famine works
Every year, hundreds of thousands of students in the U.S. — and thousands more around the world — unite through World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine to feed hungry children and families.
Just $35 can help feed and care for a child for a month! Sign up or log in now to check out our FREE fundraising tools. Then, set up your online fundraising page. “My favorite part of the Famine was fundraising. I felt like I was making a big difference in a child’s life,” shared Emma, one Famine participant.
Your students will grow closer to God and each other as they fast for 30 hours! We’ve got tons of activities, the ever-popular TRIBE game, and community service ideas (plus schedules that pull them all together) to make your no-eat overnighter a breeze. Sign up or log in to check out these resources today!
Collect the funds your students raised and send them to World Vision ASAP — it’s the only way your group’s hard work will help children in need. Your students will get the rewards they’ve earned, and if they’ve raised at least $500 they’ll qualify to apply for the Famine Study Tour — a mind-blowing, once-in-a-lifetime chance to travel to meet real kids helped by World Vision.
